Choosing a location for your couples boudoir shoot

While I loveeee coming to your house to document you + your partner exactly as you are, you might want to choose another location and make a fun memory/experience out of our session. I’m so down for that! Here are some location ideas:

• Your home — it seriously doesn’t need to look a certain way or be aesthetic, it’s about documenting you as you ARE. Andddd I promise I’ll make it art, ha! 

• A cabin AIRBNB or VRBO

• Hot springs (ahhhh yes please, this sounds so fun!)

• A motel or hotel room

• A tent, camper, or van! 

Montana boudoir outfit inspiration 

One of the biggest barriers to couples’ boudoir sessions is that some people stress over what to wear — I’m here to tell you that for *any* kind of session, your goal should be to look like yourselves, be comfortable, and to feel beautiful (for you fellas, too!) 

For a bathtub or hotub session, wear your fave swimwear — if you aren’t comfy with that, try putting on a big t-shirt as a cover up. 

I’m a big fan of just wearing your cozies for in-home sessions, too! Don’t underestimate how beautifully sweatpants, jammiez, or wearing over-sized shirts can photograph. 

It’s also a super fun storytelling/artistic challenge to “dress down” formal clothes — think unbuttoning men’s dress shirts, silky dresses, even doing an “end of evening” session during your elopement. 

Of course, some people opt for lingerie, which is totally great too! 

Fun ideas for a steamy lifestyle engagement or couples session

• A hot tub or bathtub session 

• Cards or a board game in bed

• Cuddling on the couch watching a film/listening to records

• Taking photos + videos of each other (Like that scene in Burlesque haha!!) 

• Painting each other (Like one of your french girls) 

• Sipping morning coffee + cuddling 

• Hiking to a hot springs (!!!) 

• Cooking together
