Mitch + Morgan’s romantic, sentimental, intimate vow renewal

Why an intimate Montana vow renewal?

Should you renew your vows!?

The past couple of years have been crazyyyy, and I know a lot of couples didn’t get the wedding experience they dreamed of. Mitch and Morgan’s wedding was lovely and they hold it so close, but having artistic bridal portraits and the chance to tell one another how they feel and their intentions for their marriage was still on their hearts even a year after their original wedding.

Welllll — spoiler alert, the vow renewal was stunning and so ridiculously special.

Friends, there are no rules. You don’t need an excuse to set aside time to tell your partner how much they mean to you and how you intend to love them. You don’t need an excuse to build a memory or hire a photographer/videographer to document your legacy in a beautiful way. If you want to... do it.

Virgin River Inspired Vow Renewal

The groom’s childhood home was the perfect venue for this anniversary bridal session with Mitch and Morgan.

These two are sweet, romantic, sentimental, and ridiculously in love — all themes present in our session. This year has been all about slowing down, prioritizing exploring and activities and movement over posing and perfection, and telling real love stories — that’s exactly what we did for these two incredible people.

We walked around the property that Mitch’s family has lovingly caretaken for his entire life and I listened as they reminisced about experiences they’d had there and things they contributed — we were there a week before the property was selling, and a day before Mitch and Morgan moved from the area and on to their next season.

To celebrate their first year of marriage and the foundation they’ve built, they shared vows with one another in a canoe out on the water, in whispers that only they could hear. Before their session, Morgan messaged me asking if we could stage lanterns on the pond while they read their letters, inspired by a scene in Virgin River. Her vision came together in the most lovely way, and I’m thrilled that they were intentional about making this memory together.

It was a beautiful night.
