“Michael, when I first fell in love with you, I was too afraid to think that today could possibly happen. It wasn’t until I realized that I loved you more than I was afraid to lose you that I began to hope that we could get married. Today is that day.”
Emalee and Michael make up one of the most remarkable couples we’ve come across. Their wedding came at the end of the busiest week of our year — we traveled from a wedding in Wise River to a multi-day shoot in Choteau, and then to a wedding in Red Lodge before ending up in Bozeman for this incredible elopement.
I was exhausted.
Somehow, Emalee and Michael made us feel so special and at home that their full day wedding extravaganza just felt like a remarkable adventure rather than another shoot, and I can’t say enough what the day ended up meaning to us. Their family shared their hugs, laughter, food, and the roof over their heads with us. I woke up the next morning to a knock from the remaining guests giving me a cake and a card for my birthday; THAT’S how sweet this group of people are.
As for the wedding itself, we felt honored to have been able to witness the beginning of this marriage. I cried editing their vows — that should say enough about their love story.
They’re selfless, kind, laid-back, funny, and they know how to throw a party. Emalee and Michael curated their day on their terms, but every single detail had all of their loved ones in mind. It was absolutely perfect.
Emalee and Michael, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding and to be a part of your amazing family for a couple of days. You two will build the best life and marriage.
