Shayna was an absolute pleasure to work with!! She was so sweet and the second we met at our shoot it was an immediate relief for me and my fiancé. Sometimes these shoots can feel awkward or we have no clue how to pose and what to do but Shayna made sure to guide us every step of the way and make us feel extremely comfortable. We actually had a BLAST during our shoot and it didn’t even feel like we were doing work. We actually had so much fun and connected with Shayna and our photographer as if we’ve always been friends. Let's be honest here, 2020 hasn't been easy on anyone. People will look back on this year and a few words will come to mind lol. For my husband and I, we will look back at our year and think of all the wonderful people we had in our lives that made our 2020 September wedding something we will never forget. Shayna, you are a light in the dark my friend. You radiate professionalism with every step and question you make. Our day wouldn't have been our day if it wasn't for you and Maddie. You showed us compassion and kindness when we thought our wedding wasn't going to happen and you were just always there with an uplifting spirit. There with kind words and a positive attitude. You gave us hope that our day would be perfect in a very imperfect world. Great people are surrounded by great people and that is a fact when when it comes to Montana Diaries. Also a huge shoutout to Maddie she was a champ when it came to our huge wedding party! Deciding on a videographer is a hard decision yet she made it the easiest one. People ask us all the time if it was "worth it". Well.....my question to them is, Do you want your day to be forever captured in a film you will have for your lifetime together? Do you want to watch your day from a perspective you never saw? Do you want to cry, laugh, remember all the great things about your day for years to come and 1,384,292 times when you first get the video back? Let Shayna make your day effortless and pure. It will be the best decision you will possibly make. We got married in an uncertain time, and if she can make our day the best damn day we will forever cherish, she can and will do the same for you. Shayna with Montana Diaries was highly recommended by our venue Montana Wildflower Weddings. Because she lives on the other side of the state we opted to FaceTime with her before booking. She was silly and sweet and we knew she was right for us.

Shay and I had so many conversations via Instagram before the wedding. I probably talked to her as often as I talked to my bridesmaids, and I still had not met her in person. She never ever made me feel like a burden whether I was messaging her a question, asking her advice, or just looking for an ear to listen. A few weeks before the wedding we had a conversation and she knew I was really struggling; planning and having a wedding during a pandemic is so emotionally and physically exhausting. The constant input from others made me question whether or not we were doing the right thing by going forward with the wedding. She called me on the phone and gave me the pep talk I needed. I hope she knows that that pep talk was one of the biggest factors that helped me get through those final few weeks (without COMPLETELY losing my mind) and that was worth everything to me.

I first met Shay on the morning of the wedding when she & her assistant Maddie arrived at our condo. We hugged and talked and laughed like we were old friends who had known each other for years. She truly has the most kind and genuine soul and it is so easy to connect with her. My parents and bridesmaids were shocked to learn that Shay had a baby just two weeks before our wedding. She showed up and gave 110% of her time attention to us AND lugged all of her camera equipment around.

The wedding day flowed so well and her and our photographer worked flawlessly together. Maddie was in charge of capturing the guys footage prior to the ceremony. Most guys don’t love being in front of the camera but they all had a great time with Maddie and she made it really fun for them instead of mundane.

Our favorite footage was during the sunset pictures when it was just the two of us. We opted not to do a first look so it was the first time that we got to spend a few minutes alone together (in the company of our photographer, Shay and Maddie) all day. They were so much fun to work with that they made us forget we were in front of the camera and it just felt natural to interact as a newlywed couple in front of them.

We received our sneak peak film shortly after the wedding and I cried the first few times we watched it. The highlight film was no different. I’m not usually speechless but honestly that’s the only way I can describe our feelings while watching the footage of our wedding day ... truly speechless and at a complete loss for words. It is so much fun to get to relive the day and see everything from her cameras perspective. She captured our love, our new marriage, our wedding party, family, friends, and the entire day so perfectly. Everyone always told us that the day would fly by, and it did. We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with Shay and it was one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning. Our wedding video is absolutely priceless & we will cherish it for the rest of our lives. I will recommend Shay forever.

I reached out to Shayna to capture our elopement on video, since Covid had changed our wedding plans, so we could share our day with friends and family back home. She was SUPER accommodating with our request! Shayna has fun and creative ideas and makes you feel very comfortable as the camera is rolling. She was a blast to work with. We highly recommend her!!
